'ExtraMan TV'
The process of reimagining ExtraMan was an enjoyable journey of character exploration. Our partners at Drake Cooper asked for an "Evolution not a Revolution" of ExtraMile’s mascot’s previous design. Our biggest goal was to make ExtraMan's intentions clear; he's here to help the customer treat themselves to all the goodies ExtraMile has to offer.

"We had an amazingly talented team of animators who quickly got to work figuring out how ExtraMan would move. We decided early on that he was capable of superhero speeds and stunts but he would only use these skills to help the customers or when presenting to the viewer. ExtraMan's movement revealed he was in control of his situations but was still susceptible to the occasional automatic sliding door closing on him."

"A highlight for the series was the creation of the ExtraHome. We expanded the world beyond the automatic sliding doors and into the heart of ExtraMan’s living room, filled with extra unnecessary things that are very essential to ExtraMan. Small action figure of himself? Check! Cardboard cutout of himself? Check, check!"

Process
"Once we discovered his personality we began redesigning him, sketching dozens of design options that were short, tall, skinny, or muscular. We also presented pages of color options for his suit and crest, until we narrowed down his design to one that fit our initial goal of making him more approachable."
"As we extend the Extra World we meet the people who live in it. Our characters are a reflection of the world around us; a diverse group of folks from different backgrounds, styles, and personalities."
